Frequently Asked Questions

  • The discovery call is where you and I introduce ourselves and see if we are a fit. Having your home designed by a professional is a very personal experience and we want to ensure a good match.

  • You can request a single room, multiple room or whole house cohesive look, including kitchens and baths. Whether it’s one room or many, every detail will be hand chosen and tailored to you.

Currently, we are not accepting pre-builds.

  • Following our consultation, you'll complete a detailed questionnaire that covers everything—not just your color and style preferences, but also your hobbies, interests, and how you and your family use the spaces in your home.  We will review a variety of images and ideas together, ensuring I have a thorough understanding of your preferences. This allows me to create a design you’ll love instantly.

  • The Conceptual Design stage can take up to 8 weeks, depending on the size of the project.

The Detailed Design stage can take up to 8 weeks, depending on the size of the project.

The Purchasing and Execution stage will vary depending on the scope of work, lead times, and the contractors’ schedules. Every effort will be made to complete projects in a timely manner, without sacrificing quality.

  • Teresa Cannon Design works on a flat-fee per project model. Why is this good for you? Like an all-inclusive resort, you pay once and then sit back and relax. No monthly or weekly invoices. No hourly billing. No open-ended costs.

The fee for Conceptual and Detailed design phases is dependent on the scope of work and will be presented shortly after the consultation; each project is different.

Purchasing through my firm serves as payment for the Execution and Install phases.

  • The design fee is paid in two installments. 50% is due when the contract is signed to kick off the work. The remaining 50% is due before the Conceptual Design meeting. Because the ideas presented to you are intellectual, the full fee is collected prior to showing your design. (Once you see it, I can’t take it back.)

Payment for all furniture, materials, and goods, including tax, shipping, handling, and delivery, are due at the time of purchase.

You will pay tradesmen and contractors directly according to their own contracts and fee schedules. I will help facilitate, but Teresa Cannon Design does not sub-contract.

  • All purchasing and execution goes through Teresa Cannon Design. This will serve as payment for my services during the purchase and execution phase. In addition, many, if not all of the items I use in your design, will be custom or from to-the-trade-only sources. All design items (furniture, fixtures, fabrics, tile, rugs, light fixtures, etc.) and the delivery and installation of these items are handled by me to ensure the outcome of the overall design.

  • The total investment will vary greatly depending on how many rooms, whether or not renovations are involved, and the type of finishes you desire. Once I know your goals for the space, I will guide you in determining an appropriate investment amount.

  • The beauty of full-service interior design is the fact that everything is taken care of. High quality, pre-vetted trades and contractors are one of my greatest resources. Teresa Cannon Design will be your representative and liaison throughout the project. This ensures efficiency and quality.
